I take my G27 pedals apart every so often to clean out the cat hair that accumulates in them, the pot starts putting out funny readings (you'll see the green bar in the controls screen flicker for side to side even with no pedal movement, and it'll cancel Cruise Control or stop engine-brakes from coming on too unless I make the deadzones huge).The only reason to install the current software is for the drivers. Otherwise it's just a waste. G27 FFB might have failed from me being very rough/abusive with it, doing 12 hour drift sessions and whatnot almost daily, in a hot af room. The friend I mentioned, his G27 is still doing fine to this day.

Go and set your wheel and pedals up correctly in the ETS2 controller settings (Not in G-Hub) and then they will work correctly. My G920 works correctly. Set the accelerator, brake and clutch to "inverted". The wheel should be "centered". It’s because when you connect it that’s what it sets it to for some reason.
